I'm a wildlife enthusiast. My passion for biology was ignited by a tiny gecko living in my house when I was a little girl. Ever since then, I have been more and more curious about all types of creatures. As much as I enjoy my leisure time in the wilderness venturing forth into different habitats, I've decided to step further into the field of ecology and devote my efforts to conducting scientific research. I'm also an advocate for public awareness, to help people reflect on their attitude towards Nature and the protection of flora and fauna.
My research interests encompass the ecology and conservation of threatened species. Currently I am working on a project on the carnivorous pitcher plant (Nepenthes mirabilis) in Hong Kong to determine the influence of habitat complexity on the diversity of prey captured. I investigated plant-animal interactions associated with the species as well, providing insights for proper conservation measures. For my MPhil studies, I'm focusing on the ecology of Chinese pangolins (Manis pentadactyla) in Hong Kong, also a protected species at risk of anthropogenic activities. Hopefully with a better understanding of these species, people will be more connected and considerate to nature and their conservation.
