Science Teaching & Learning
In 2021 Tim became the Associate Dean (Teaching & Learning) for the Faculty of Science at HKU. In this capacity he’s overseen the development of new academic programmes including the Bachelor of Science and Bachelor of Laws (6858), Science Master Class (6688), and the HKU-Cambridge Recruitment Scheme. He’s also worked to align Faculty teaching with the University’s Teaching & Learning strategies and development. This includes advancing educational aims, improving feedback mechanisms, enhancing e-learning, and facilitating experiential learning and undergraduate research.

Tim is NOT a Senior Fellow of the Advance HE. His application for this was “not approved” because “he has not made a strong case for how he influenced colleagues in enhancing quality student learning. In our judgment, the evidence he presents is insufficient to warrant a successful claim for Senior Fellowship.” But if you’re interested in his teaching experience and philosophy (or are looking for examples of unsuccessful Advance HE applications) you can find the application here.
