I have long been fascinated by nature through my childhood interests in stargazing, hiking, and geology. My interest in ecology was sparked during my undergraduate study in HKU where I majored in Environmental Science and Geography. I am particularly interested in butterflies and other kinds of insects. I have also been active in environmental education with the hope of spreading the knowledge and joy that I gain from nature.
I am currently a postdoctoral researcher at the Global Change and Tropical Conservation Lab, extending my PhD work in the same lab. My work focuses on the thermal ecology of subtropical butterflies and moths. Using a variety of field, experimental, and data analysis techniques, I seek to understand how these insects may respond to climate change on eco-physiological and community levels. I am also involved in a mark-release-recapture study to understand the seasonal migration of danaid butterflies.
